(NEWSER) – Three LA-area teenagers pulled over to greet their high school teacher standing on a curb Saturday night—but things got weird when he got in the car, KTLAreports. The driver agreed to give John Edward Maust, 34, a lift even though he seemed intoxicated, sheriff's officials said in a news release. As the ride progressed, Maust's conversation with the three 17-year-olds "caused the driver to become worried and therefore pull over," the release said. The students finally got out of the car, but Maust ordered them back in and demanded they go to Jack in the Box.
