Cadbury has announced its newest mascot and the lucky winner is Lieutenant Dan, a two-legged dog. Competition to be the next Cadbury Bunny was stiff, but the pup named after the “Forrest Gump” character who lost his legs in war beat out other contestants including Conswala the llama, Dilly Bar Dabbler the duck, and Ginger the hamster to take the honor.
That’s because two-year-old Lieutenant Dan had something none of them had: the ability to hop around on two legs, like an Easter bunny. He was born with a deformity in his hind paws and tail and eventually had them amputated, but the rescue dog gets around just fine with his custom set of back wheels, or by bunny hopping.
Now he’ll star in the candy company’s newest commercial and his human will win a $5-thousand prize, too. To see his adorable picture, click the chocolate bunny below ↓
