This is a classic case of mistaken identity. Last week Michelle Slater's family noticed a stray cat around their driveway, but before she could run out to meet the kitty it darted off into the night. Michelle decided to put some food out for the cat. The next morning she realized that the cat ate the wet food and drank the water she left out for the mystery cat.
The temps ended up dropping pretty significantly in her area and she put out a cat house with a blanket so the cat would be warm during the chilly nights. She knew the cat was in the house because the blanket was moved around and the food and water was gone by the next morning. Michelle decided one night to see if the cat was out there and she was shocked to discover that the cat, she named, Loki wasn't a cat at all...it was a POSSUM!
So, apparently that cat never came back but the possum sure enjoyed the comfy bed, food and water. Although Loki wasn't a cat after all of this, she continues to feed the animal every night.
