If you are looking to adopt a pet and you don't even know where to start, we can help you out.
1.) Listen to your gut. If you are wanting to adopt a pet from a rescue and they aren't calling you back, chances are, this is not the place you want to adopt your pet from. Get referrals from family and friends or even your vet.
2.) Follow the Rules for Adoptions. If the rescue wants to come see the home before the adoption can take place, let them see the property. Also, if there are set guidelines in laws for your community, you must follow through on all of those rules.
3.) Make sure you have a healthy pet. Most rescues take the animals to the vet for spaying/neutering and just get all the necessary health issues out of the way before adopting.
