(WOWT) A woman visiting the Omaha Doorly Zoo Sunday went into labor and gave birth while still on zoo grounds.
You’ve likely heard stories of women giving birth in some unexpected places, whether it’s while stuck in traffic or in a public restaurant. But you could say Omaha Doorly Zoo’s newest bundle of joy was born to be wild.
Omaha Fire and Rescue crews were called to the zoo around 3 p.m.
The woman and her newborn were transported to Nebraska Medicine. Hospital officials tell WOWT 6 News mom and baby are in good condition.
Zoo patrons say the woman welcomed a new baby near the zoo’s bear exhibit.
