If Your A/C Is Leaking Freon, Get Ready For Sticker Shock!

(WOWT) With temperatures increasing, many have already turned on their air conditioners.

But if your unit has a leak, an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulation could have you spending thousands of dollars you didn't expect.

Since 1995, the EPA has been phasing out the refrigerant R-22.  Most people know it by the brand name Freon.

The government says it's harmful to the environment, which is why they're cutting down on the use.  But that means a simple A/C fix this summer could cost you thousands.
