Racecar Driver To Honor Fallen Sheriff's Deputy

It has been nearly two months since Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Deputy Mark Burbridge was shot and killed in the line of duty.

A special tribute to Burbridge will be held Friday night at the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska.

Racecar driver Jim Cahill has Burbridge's image on the hood of his car and will do a reverse lap with a Pottawattamie County Sheriff's cruiser and a retro Council Bluffs Police car.

The tribute to Burbridge comes on a night when all first responders are honored at the track.  The track holds about 5-thousand people and Cahill is urging everyone who comes to wear blue to show their support for law enforcement.

There will also be a fundraiser that evening for Burbridge's family.  The gates open at 5:00.  The racing starts at 7:15.
