The City of Omaha is asking for the public's help in naming a new park and lake in northwest Omaha.
The area is currently known simply as Dam Site 15A, which isn't a very catchy name, so the city is looking for suggestions.
The recreational area was developed by the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District as a flood control reservoir just northwest of 168th and Fort.
The park will open next spring and will feature a 220 acre recreational lake with boat ramp, playground, walking trail, picnic areas and possibly a baseball field.
Name suggestions can be submitted until July 24th by email at namethepark@cityofomaha.org
