A Frenchman is alive, reportedly revived after his heart had stopped for 18 hours.
Montpellier University Hospital in Southern France reports the 53-year-old man was walking outside when he had a heart attack March 12th. He was found unconscious after he failed to return home.
Doctors say the only reason he lived is because it was cold outside and he suffered hypothermia. The condition caused his body to work to protect his organs until he was eventually revived after more than four hours of resuscitation.
The man is still on respiratory support but doctors say he will recover.
