Survivor, Starship Set To Headline Free Memorial Park Concert

Get ready to rock the park!

For the 28th year, the Memorial Park 4th of July concert and fireworks are back and with new sponsors. The fate of the concert was uncertain after Bank of the West announced that they would not be sponsoring the event for 2018, but Metro Credit Union wasn't going to let the tradition just fade away.

Two iconic bands will take center stage at the Metro Credit Union Celebrates America free concert and fireworks show on Friday, June 29 at Memorial Park. Starship Featuring Mickey Thomas and Survivor will co-headline the event with local cover band, The Confidentials, set to open the 6:00 PM event.

Metro Credit Union President and CEO Mike McDermott says they are proud to continue the tradition, and welcome Starship and survivor to Omaha.  “We look forward to welcoming our customers and their families along with the entire community to an evening of great music, fireworks and patriotism.”

The favorite summertime tradition is expected to draw more than 60,000 people, which makes it one of the largest free outdoor concerts in America.

NewsRadio 1110 KFAB and Baxter Volkswagen are proud to be supporting sponsors of the event along with fireworks sponsor WoodmenLife. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 10:00 PM and will be set to music heard in the park. For the first time ever, the music will also be available through a phone app.
