Saturday nights this summer are for enjoying time outside and live music with the Rock on the River Concert Series at Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park in Council Bluffs.

Every Saturday night from June 2nd to July 28th families can come out and enjoy a free concert at the park from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Bands include Taxi Driver, The Confidentials, Ecstatic, Blue House, Hi-Fi Hangover, Lemon Fresh Day and Hotel Desperado.

In addition to live music, there will be food and drink vendors, as well as face painting and balloon artists. Patrons are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, umbrellas, and coolers. Canned beverages must have koozies, all other beverages must be in plastic cups and no glass is allowed. Other items not allowed are tents, canopies and anything that stakes into the ground.

The concert series is sponsored by the Iowa West Foundation and the City of Council Bluffs. Iowa West President and CEO Pete Tulipana says they're excited to be a part of the summer fun. “With the future office building and housing units as well as all the amenities in the park and at the pavilion, River’s Edge is an ideal location to live, work and play. We’re glad to see events like Rock on the River showcase all the area has to offer the region.”

Council Bluffs Mayor Matt Walsh says it's an exciting time for the River’s Edge Park. “There are a variety of events planned at the park in 2018. This concert series adds another layer of entertainment and provides an opportunity for our community to come together and enjoy River’s Edge on a regular basis.”
