Cleanup Underway After Storms Sweep Across Nebraska/Iowa

(WOWT) - Storms swept across eastern Nebraska and parts of Iowa on Monday with two reports of tornadoes.

The National Weather Service reports there was a brief tornado touchdown in Saunders County near Cedar Creek. A cone shaped tornado was reported near Louisville, as well as intermittent touchdowns in Murray.

Viewer submissions to WOWT showed the funnel develop near Louisville. 6 News viewer Brittney Bauers caught falling debris on video in Louisville shortly after the tornado was reported.

The Iowa State Patrol said six semis overturned on I-29 near Thurman due to high winds. At least one driver was transported to the hospital.

The storms brought quarter-sized hail and high winds. Many viewers also sent in photos of large hail in Gretna, nearing ping pong ball sized.

MidAmerican Energy reports more than 3,300 customers are without power in Council Bluffs. OPPD reports around 1,700 outages in Cass County.

The aftermath of the storms can be seen in flood damage around Cedar Creek and large tree damage in Louisville.
