Fire Damages Omaha Fire Station While On Call

Firefighters at Station 43 near 103rd and Fort found themselves in need of some emergency help Sunday morning when fire broke out in the kitchen. 

The call came in just after 10:00 a.m. from a battalion chief at the station.  Engine 43 was reportedly already on another call and firefighters from another station responded to the fire.    

When they arrived they found the station filled with smoke and in need of ventilation.  The fire was under control in about 15 minutes. 

No one was injured and the damage is described as significant.   The cause is not yet known.
