Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium wants to put branches broken by Sunday's early snow to good use.
The zoo posted on Facebook that several of the animals like to munch on branches and leaves, so they're collecting unwanted branch debris to give as snacks.
Some of the branch types the zoo would like include elm, hackberry, mulberry, birch, honey locust, linden and willow. They cannot have been treated with pesticides or be from dead or dying trees.
Anyone interested in donating or anyone with questions should call the zoo's Browse Department at 402-738-6947 or email browse@OmahaZoo.com.
