Girl Scouts Collect Pet Supplies For Flood Victims

As residents in communities around the area continue to deal with flood waters, a girl scout troop from Papillion is helping to make sure their pets are taken care of. Craig DenHerder is the Director of Operations at Town and Country Humane Society in Papillion.

He says Girl Scout Troop 41901 gathered donations of pet food supplies to help them distribute to flood victims to help care for and feed their pets. "Were giving away dog food to anyone that needs it out there." He says they have received a lot of donations of dog food from the community as well.

The donations will also help them feed the pets they are keeping for displaced families. DenHerder says they are housing about a dozen animals. He says other pet supplies are needed. "Collars, leashes, dog beds, feeding bowls and toys.

Their building is located just south of 84th and Capehart. He says they have staff out in front for drop offs seven days a week.
