FEMA Extends Iowa Disaster Application Deadline

FEMA Extends Iowa Disaster Application Deadline

Those impacted by flooding in Iowa have an extension to apply for federal recovery assistance. Governor Kim Reynolds says the Federal Emergency Management Agency granted Iowa's request for an extension regarding the registration deadline to receive help. The new deadline is July 16th. The previous deadline was July 1st.

This assistance is for homeowners and renters in nine counties that include Fremont, Harrison, Louisa, Mills, Monona, Pottawattamie, Scott, Shelby and Woodbury. The extension applies to the Small Business Administration request for loans as well. That deadline is also July 16th.

To register for FEMA assistance, visit the disaster assistance website or call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362.

Information on how to apply for low-interest SBA loans for businesses and residents is available online at SBA.gov/disaster or by calling 800-659-2955.
