Military Appreciation Week at Joslyn Art Museum– Nov. 5 – 10
  • Joslyn will honor all military family membership cardholders with additional benefits in honor of Veterans Day. Simply show your Joslyn membership card and receive a free gift and additional 10% off purchases (up to 20%) in the Hitchcock Museum Shop. Military members will also receive two complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and two desserts in Café Durham.
  • Not a Joslyn member? All visiting Military Veterans and Personnel can claim a cookie treat in Café Durham, plus receive $10 off the purchase of a new Military Family membership.

Veterans Shine On! at Memorial Park– Nov. 7 (6 – 7 p.m.)
  • Join the City of Omaha Parks & Recreation Department for a night of speakers, special guests, music, and the grand lighting of the Memorial Park WWII Colonnade in honor of our veterans. Hot cocoa and dessert will be served.

Nebraska’s Official Veteran’s Parade– Nov. 9 (10 a.m.)
  • Nebraska’s Official Veteran’s Parade honors the brave men and women who proudly served our country.
  • Location: Olde Towne Bellevue, Mission Ave. and Jackson St., Bellevue, NE.

Veterans Free Weekend at The Durham Museum– Nov. 9 – 10 (all day)
  • Veterans and their families enjoy complimentary admission all weekend long in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.
  • Location: 801 S. 10th St., Omaha, NE.

Veteran’s Day at the Wildlife Safari Park– Nov. 11 (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • In honor of those who proudly served our nation, Wildlife Safari Park is offering FREE admission to all active and retired military members, veterans, and their families on Veteran’s Day.
  • Location: Off Exit 426 near Ashland.

Veteran’s Recognition Day at the Omaha Zoo– Nov. 11 (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • In honor of those who proudly served our nation, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is offering free gate admission to all active and retired military members, veterans, and their families on Veteran’s Day.
  • Location: 3701 S. 10th St., Omaha, NE.

Veterans Day Program & Free Lunch for Veterans at The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum– Nov. 11 (11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
  • The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum honors America’s military veterans with a special program and lunch on November 11, 2019. The program begins at 11:30 a.m. with the presentation ending at 1 p.m. All military (active, retired and veterans) are welcome to attend the program for free, but must register in advance. General admission applies to non-members and all other guests. This lunch program features posting of the colors and a keynote speaker. Veterans are encouraged to attend this event in uniform. Admission is paid at the door upon arrival to the Museum, but an RSVP is required prior to the event. A complimentary light lunch is included with your admission to this program. Please RSVP by November 2.

VETERANS DAY DISCOUNTS IN OMAHA

Applebee’s– Nov. 11
  • To honor the heroes in our neighborhood, all active military members and veterans will receive a free meal from any of our participating locations on Veterans Day, November 11th.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store– Nov. 11
  • Cracker Barrel will offer veterans a choice of a complimentary piece of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake for dessert or a Pumpkin Pie Latte.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill– Nov. 11
  • Dine with a Veteran or Active Duty Service Member and purchase an entrée and their entrée (of equal price or less) is free! Dine-in only. Bring a valid form of military ID or wear your uniform to receive a complimentary entrée.

Green Beans Coffee Omaha– Nov. 11 (5:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
  • Green Beans Coffee Omaha will honor all those who have served and are serving our great nation with a FREE small cup of our brewed coffee or tea (may upgrade drink and receive $1.50 OFF) AND either a FREE Breakfast Burrito OR Fresh Baked Muffin (while supplies last).
  • DOUBLE DISCOUNTS for ALL VETERANS and their ID carrying family members (ID card holders receive 20% OFF and Veterans in Uniform receive 50% OFF). Must present a valid Military or Veteran ID.   • ANGEL CARD – started by a Gold Star mom, and in conjunction with GBCOmaha, we have an Angel Card started with a current value of $200. Anyone may contribute to the Angel card if you wish. Veterans with a valid ID up to $11.11 OFF their order until the card is depleted
  • ANYONE can contribute to the Angel Card.
  • REMEMBRANCE STARS – All Veterans will receive a star from an Old Glory that has served her duty. With a token card that reads “I am a part of Our American Flag that has flown over a home in “state”. I can no longer fly. The sun and winds have caused me to become tattered and torn. Please carry me as a reminder that you are not forgotten.”

Hy-Vee (156th St.)– Nov. 11 (6 – 11 a.m.)
  • On Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, all veterans and family are invited to enjoy free breakfast for veterans and family, music performances, and new this year, the 9/11 memorial!
  • Other local Hy-Vee’s might also be offering a breakfast. Please check with your local Hy-Vee.

Red Lobster– Nov. 11
  • In honor of Veterans Day, and to thank veterans, active-duty military and reservists for their service, Red Lobster® is offering a free appetizer or dessert on Nov. 11th. Guests only need to show a valid military ID or proof of service to redeem this offer. Guests may choose their free appetizer or dessert from a special menu.

Texas Roadhouse – Nov. 11 (11 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • All veteran and active military personnel (active, retired, or former U.S. military) receive a free lunch on Veterans Day, Nov. 11th. *Does not include spouse or children. Dine-in only. Proof of service includes military or VA card, or discharge papers. Select entrées from their special Veterans Day menu. Hours vary by location.

True REST Float Spa Free Sessions for Veterans– Nov. 11
  • On Monday, Nov. 11, True Rest Float Spa will offer a free float to any active-duty military member and/or veteran. Be sure you book in advance as appointments book quickly.
  • Additionally, True REST Float Spa is running a Veterans Day “One for One” promotion for civilians. For every True REST Float Spa float therapy session purchased between Oct. 21-Nov. 11, an active-duty personnel or veteran will be gifted a free floatation therapy session.

Free Entrance to National Parks – Nov. 11
  • On Nov. 11th, more than 100 national parks that usually charge entrance fees are offering free entrance. Find aparticipating park here.

Free Car Wash at participating retailers– Nov. 11
  • Grace For Vets is a united front of car wash operators that provide a FREE CAR WASH to veterans and service personnel each year on Nov. 11th to honor their past and present service to their country.
  • Find participating locations in Nebraska and Iowa.

Free Haircut Promotion for Veterans at Great Clips– Nov. 11
  • VETERANS & CURRENT MILITARY MEMBERS: Visit a U.S. Great Clips salon on Nov. 11th and receive either a free haircut that day or the free haircut card to use at a later date. Haircut cards are redeemable until December 31, 2019.
  • NON-MILITARY CUSTOMERS: Purchase a service at a U.S. Great Clips salon on Veterans Day (Nov. 11) and get a free haircut card to give to a veteran you know.
