12 yr Old Girl Starts Clothing Drive for Homeless in Omaha

A 12 year old girl from Glenwood, Iowa has a big heart for area homeless and she’s helping them out.As Cloe Brown saw a homeless man on the street corner holding a sign it made her want to help him out.She was heading to her local Hy-Vee store and she convinced her Grandpa Tony to buy him a blanket, but by the time they got done shopping the man had disappeared.Chloe was very disappointed, but that didn’t get her down. She decided right then and there she wanted to do something for area homeless people. She organized a drive called The Attitude of Gratitude Program to collect items for the homeless from people here in Omaha. Her first drive was successful, she collected about 7 large plastic bags full of warm clothes, coats, hats and nonperishable food items and took them to the Lydia House. Currently she is collecting items at her Grandma’s house and if you’d like to contribute you can email her at CBrown@emschools.org or call her grandmother, Deborah at 712-520-3000.
