Finding it hard to handle homeschooling and keep the kids happy? You’re not alone. Lots of parents are trying to figure out what kind of schedule or routine works best for their kids and the family while everyone is learning and working from home. For some that means a super structured day, while other moms and dads may be fine with letting their kids watch old episodes of “SpongeBob” all day. But if you’re looking for a fun way to break up your little ones’ time, “Activity Bingo” could be it.
It’s basically a chart that looks like a regular Bingo board, but instead of numbers, it has different academically-inspired or physical activities in each square. When the kiddos complete a line, they get a reward of your choice. Here are some ideas of what to include on your Activity Bingo:
- Read for 20 minutes
- Do a puzzle
- Build a LEGO masterpiece
- Write a letter to a loved one
- Create a stop motion animation video
- Write a song with Chrome Music Lab
- Have a 10-minute dance party
- Drink 4+ cups of water today
- Do 10 to 15 minutes of a physical activity of their choice.
Your Activity Bingo sheet can be as fancy or quick-and-dirty as you want and you can find templates online, too. And if you’d rather just let them watch TV all day, we’re not here to judge.
