Beware Of Malware Loaded Flash Drives Being Mailed, But Not From Best Buy

If you receive a free flash drive in the mail, you might want to pitch it. There are reports of people receiving a letter, supposedly from Best Buy, thanking them for being a “loyal customer.” Included with the letter are a $50 gift card, and a list of products it can be used on. This is how they get you to use the flash drive. When one of these drives was tested, it was found to be loaded with “malicious code” that the hackers can then use to take over your system. It’s not clear how widespread this scam is, but you’ve been warned if you get one. If you’re in doubt, you can always call Best Buy to verify it, too.
