Brandon Smith loves geography and reading maps so his dad, Jody, turned to Twitter to help him celebrate his 12th birthday. Because of the coronavirus, they couldn’t go on a father-son adventure like they usually do, so he made a special request.
“I can’t give him the party he deserves, but Brandon loves geography,” Smith tweeted. “He would love it if you would RT or reply where you are so he can mark it on his map.”
The dad says he only expected a handful of replies, but his tweet went viral and thousands of people from all over the world responded with their locations and even sent photos. Brandon is marking all the locations with a dot on his map and says one of his favorite responses was a live video from a scientist in Antarctica.
