Loki the therapy dog is used to visiting patients at Maryland hospitals and now the pup is looking out for healthcare workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. The “dogtor” belongs to second-year medical student Caroline Benzel and they’re delivering care packages to intensive care nurses at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Benzel says she noticed the strain the nurses were going through from having to wear personal protective equipment around the clock, they were getting rashes and irritation from the masks. So she put together care packages to help alleviate some of that pain and calls them “hero healing kits.”
The kits contain things like healing lotion, Gold Bond powder, chewing gum, lip balm, and tea. Benzel creates them with donations to her Amazon Wishlistand Loki delivers them, along with some love, for the nurses. Click the cute puppy below for more info on this story ↓
