A four-year-old Staten Island boy has been lifting spirits during the coronavirus outbreak.
The boy has been leading the Pledge of Allegiance on Zoom to a large group of people that includes frontline workers, politicians and his fellow nursery school classmates. CJ Tardy initially started leading the pledge on Facetime each morning as a way to keep his school routine.
His mother says it quickly turned into a much bigger salute that includes more than 50 people each morning on Zoom. Some local politicians heard about the daily video conference call and asked if they could jump on too.
Soon first responders at nearby hospitals were joining the daily call, along with some local firefighters. CJ's mom,Kellyanne, says she hopes the daily video call continues to reach even more people.
