A dad was on a milk run when he ended up saving a stranger’s life. Justin Thomas had stopped at his local Kroger store in League City, Texas, to pick up milk for his twins when he heard someone screaming in the supermarket.
He says he ran toward the screams and saw a woman “splayed out on the floor.” Thomas says she appeared to be in cardiac arrest, so he relied on his former medical background and 10 years in the Coast Guard and started doing CPR. He and another shopper took turns doing chest compressions until paramedics arrived.
Thomas has since heard from the woman’s family who tell him her doctors say if it wasn’t for the quick actions, she wouldn’t have made it. “I just saw someone in need,” the grocery store hero explains. “I didn’t even think about it, I just jumped in to help.”
