Metro Area Farmers Come to Wahoo Family Need During Harvest Season

This is a very personal story for Shari Stone and her family. Earlier this Summer, Wahoo farmer and friend of the family, Jerry Ostransky lost his life in a tragic farming accident. His sons, Jeremy and Jerod as well as his mother, Judy and daughter Janelle and the wives of the boys knew that harvest season would be fast approaching. They had a lot of farm land to cover and not enough hands to help make this year's harvest successful.

Shari Stone's father, Wayne Dreessen and many area farmers from Elkhorn, Bennington and surrounding areas got together, packed up the tractors, combines and trucks to help the Ostransky family finish this year's harvest.

They all knew that this was going to be hard on the family, but in true farming nature, they were ready to take care of what needed to be done. So, every morning, bright and early, these awesome friends (farmers) head to the Wahoo area to help our their friend, and every evening they leave tired and worn out, but they were doing it for a terrific farming family. They are all sure that Jerry is looking down on them from Heaven with a BIG O smile.

Of course, Jerry and his family would do the same thing for Shari Stone's family and the other farming friends. The great thing about growing up in a small town is that you make lifelong friendships that will stand the test of time and help out where needed.
