The Omaha Police are warning parents of these scammers that are advertising these free child safety kits. They ask for kids’ personal information including their social security numbers. They are, in some cases, even asking to meet the child at the home. Police say that legitimate child safety kits are available, but they are designed to gather information like finger prints, DNA and a photo of the child never a child’s social security number.
