Today we’re talking about free or nearly free rides to the polls and in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Amber Viola has you covered today. She’s going to be driving her 15-passenger van around town just to take people to and from their polling places. And the best part? She’s not charging a thing.
Viola says she came up with the idea after thinking about all the people who struggle to get to the polls. “I realized that not everybody has transportation and I definitely think it’s something most of us take for granted,” she explains.
Even with mail-in and absentee ballots as options, she thinks a lot of voters will still want to go out and cast their ballots in person.
