Drought on the Platte is not ever a good thing. Drought isn't a good thing anywhere ever, I would assume.
River conservationists are urging the public to begin conserving water now due to drought-like conditions, according to a press release from Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District. (You can read that whole story here from KPTM)
There is one thing though. I can remember as a child taking LONG LONG walks on the sandbars of the Platte with my siblings and our mom. You can take a bad situation and find some good in it somewhere. Those are some of my lifetime favorite memories.
