A Florida woman is trying to save a tree from being chopped down by marrying it. Well, she isn’t the only one!
Karen Cooper and several other brides read their vows to a ficus tree in Snell Family Park in Fort Myers, Florida Saturday. Cooper organized the event after learning that the city's
Beautification Advisory Board and Public Works Department plan to have the giant ficus, which is over one-hundred years old, removed from the park. Cooper and her supporters plan to confront the Beautification Advisory Board during a meeting.
The tree has a massive eight-thousand foot canopy.
