Passing Game Takes Center Stage In Spring Scrimmage

(WOWT) Three different quarterbacks threw touchdown passes and Luke Gifford snagged two turnovers as 78,312 turned out to watch the annual Nebraska football spring game Saturday.

Tanner Lee completed 13 of 19 passes for three scores and 190 yards. Patrick O'Brien, who shared reps with Lee throughout the spring, added another 134 yards passing on 11 completions for one touchdown. True freshman Tristan Gebbia, who enrolled early this spring, went 28-of-45 with one interception and one score.

Gifford stripped a receiver of the football in the game's second quarter and recovered it himself. The turnover set up a Red team score. His interception just before the half allowed for another Red touchdown before the break.

Nebraska concluded spring practices with the scrimmage.
