Man With Down Syndrome Wins Major Entrepreneur Award

John Cronin, who co-founded with his father,Mark, has become the first person with Down syndrome to win the Entrepreneur of the Year 2019 New York Award. The 23-year-old runs the business selling socks and greeting cards with his dad and they donate 5% of their earnings to the Special Olympics and money from their Awareness and Charity socks to other groups.

John’s Crazy Socks employs people with differing abilities and has been quite successful, earning $1.7-million in revenue in its first year in business and showing 300% growth to earn $5.5-million in revenue in its second year. The Cronin's won in the “Mission Driven” category and John says he’s “so excited to win!"
