Study Finds Children Read More in the Presence of Dogs

In this day and age of smartphones, tablets and other devices it makes it hard for kids to have healthy reading habits. A new study is proving there's a furry solution. Researchers say that sitting down with a book in the presence of a dog will motivate your child to read more. Each kid participating were selected based off of their reading skills before this experiment. The kids were asked to read aloud both with and without a therapy dog present. They asked the children if they wanted to continue reading after they finished the first page and they found that the kids were feeling more interested and more competent and wanted to continue reading with the dog next to them. So, proof once again that a dog is great for kiddos!
